IT'S FRIDAY THE 13TH

They just announced that Corps of Engineers wants to make a resort at our Milford Lake. I don't think I like that because that's mine. My grampa built this lake with the with the original COE and most of my fun times were out there on the water. They had to dig up the old city of Milford which is now the floor of the lake and relocate it up on a hill. They had to dig up a cemetary and move all kinds of stuff. It was supposed to take a week for the Republican River to fill up the lake in July 1965 and when they opened it up it took all of 2 days. Our lake is beautiful and I was a skiing fool growing up out there. One time my dad had us anchored out by the dam on the 4th of July and we were so close for the fireworks display that little teeny ashes from the show fell on our shoulders. I was in 8th grade, the full moon was out and the fireworks display was so beautiful. My grandpa told me that when they filled up the lake they apparently didn't get everything in the cemetary because some coffins came floating to the surface--EEK How Freaky :o) Hopefully this will pass over- don't want no ozarks hillbillies in Kansas !
